Welcome to The FATE Institute
At the FATE Institute, we believe that data and insights play a critical role in driving sustainable entrepreneurship and economic growth. As the research and policy division of FATE Foundation, we lead innovative thinking and create platforms to enable idea exchange and problem-solving strategies to foster sustainable entrepreneurship in Nigeria.
For over two decades, FATE Foundation has empowered thousands of entrepreneurs with the entrepreneurship education, resources, and mentorship needed to build resilient businesses. The FATE Institute works to deepen this impact by providing evidence-based research, data-driven policy recommendations, and thought leadership on the evolving needs of the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Our work focuses on understanding the challenges and opportunities faced by Nigerian entrepreneurs, identifying systemic gaps, and advocating for policies that improve access to finance and markets, taxation, standardization and certification, infrastructure deficiencies, energy etc, while fostering inclusion and sustainability. Through our flagship reports, policy dialogue conversations, and strategic partnerships, we equip stakeholders – government agencies, enterprise support organizations, business membership organizations, academic institutions, development organizations etc – with the insights needed to drive impactful change.
Our goal is to contribute to the development of an enabling business environment and a thriving ecosystem where entrepreneurs have access to the support they need to drive business growth, create jobs, and contribute to our nation’s economy. This is why we are dedicated to producing high-quality research that not only informs policy but also serves as a practical resource for entrepreneurs navigating Nigeria’s dynamic business landscape.
